Brighton based Manipulate has just unveiled the first full length release on his own Nause Corps label, the excellent debut album from Grandeurs Of Delusion titled 'A Stale Breath of Fresh Ahh'.
Since he set up the label last year and set it off in style with the excellent 7" 'Bad Karma b/w Strontium Sleazewave' co-produced with Trash Weston from The Orb, we've been waiting for a follow up, and it was worth the wait.
G.O.D regroups Manipulate, Deviant Ted and the one and only Square One for 17 tracks of eclectic niceness with scratches and cuts complimenting the production. Guest spots from NozL's Lone Wolf, Lorn and I.D.O round off a musical package that packs a heavy punch. If that's not enough here's a quote from BBC Radio 1's Mary Anne Hobbs: “Agile and extraordinary rhythms…. Their sinister and intoxicating textures stopped me in my tracks..”.

Here's the scheduled line up for the Cuts of Culture 2 Podcasts which will begin on the 22nd of July and last a total of 9 weeks.
In addition the line up announced a few weeks back (see previous news item) we've included some additional content: 6 tracks from the compilation itself and a set of bonus, secret downloads in the 9th week. What exactly these bonus downloads are will be revealed closer to the time of their being made available.
Remember to subscribe to the podcasts to ensure that every new episode gets cosily downloaded to your desktop as it's posted, so you don't have to do anything but sit back and enjoy. To subscribe go to the TTR feedburner page (also linked on the top menu), where you can subscribe in a variety of ways including RSS and most podcatcher formats. For those using iTunes go to the podcast directory, search for Turntable Radio and click the subscribe button.
The podcasts will include .m4v video files and .mp3 audio files, as well as .jpg and .pdf documents. The .m4v video files are optimised for viewing on iPods and similar portable players as well as through iTunes. For those of you not so keen on that or without an iPod you'll also be able to view the files normally with Quicktime and/or WMP. Just make sure you have the latest versions and/or necessary codecs installed. Video files can also be viewed on DVD players which support the format.
While you don't have to subscribe to get the files, as these can be downloaded on the Turntable Radio feedburner page, we encourage everybody to subscribe if they can as this will help us to gather some statistics about the success of the podcasts which can be passed onto the artists. In addition we will be getting some support from iTunes and so the more subscribers we get the more we can highlight the popularity of the music to the wider community.

The follow up to our Cuts of Culture compilation will finally see the light of day this summer, as a series of exclusive multi-content podcasts.
Originally planned for a 2006 release, as a CD/DVD package, we feel times are changing and that exposure, not profit, is the key issue here. Hence we intend to make this release available FREE via a dedicated series of podcasts - the first time anyone has used podcast techology to make available a complete package that would normally be on CD and DVD. These podcasts will be broadcast via the Turntable Radio feed.
This includes 6 exclusive videos, bonus tracks, scratch beats, full artwork and liner notes as well as the compilation mix from 2tall. Artists featured on the compilation, tracks and videos include D-Styles, 2tall, Excess, Netik, ieMERGE, Tayone, Phonomorphia, Exile (from Emanon), Dq, DJ Baku and many more.
As was the original intent, this second volume aims to showcase even more of the established and upcoming worldwide talent including collaborations with established producers from the worlds of hip hop and electronic music. Once more this is about showcasing the music that is being worldwide, and too often ignored or unheard of by fans and the wider public and media in general.
The podcasts will start on the 3rd week of July, and will be available one a week for 8 weeks, culminating with the compilation mix from 2tall. It's with great sadness that we found out yesterday that Ryo Kato aka DJ Klock passed away ten days ago. Klock was one of the most interesting producers and DJ to come out of Japan and the post-DJ Krush era, a truly unique and interesting artist.
I was first introduced to his work by Tatsuki, during the work I was doing on the new generation of Japanese DJs, producers and turntablists in 2005 and 2006. And it was last summer that Klock's wife, Yuki contacted me and sent me a huge package containing copies of Klock's last album and recent works. This, alongside the music of his I had previously found, completed a picture of a man who was truly on his own, working on musical tangents and directions in which most people didn't dare go.
Whilst I had never had the chance to meet him, something I'd hoped to do this year, the discussions I had with him and his wife and the pieces I wrote about him left me feeling like I knew him, if only through his music. And that's why the news of him taking his life, and leaving behind his wife and kid, are all the more so sad.
Wherever he is now we can only hope he's happy, and whilst we may be sad now he leaves behind a body of work that will continue to live on after him - from his solo work to his work with bands like Cacoy. And so I can only urge you to go out and discover this work if you haven't, or continue to if you already know of him. He will be sadly missed. Rest in peace DJ Klock.

2012 is approaching fast... and so ahead of the forewarned millenial tensions, fellow minds 2tall, Dudley Perkins (aka Declaime) and Georgia Anne Muldrow bring you 'Beautiful Mindz' - an album as deep as the prophecies and universal truths it talks about.
2tall's first full length offering since his debut album, 'Beautiful Mindz' is a showcase of the new directions and work the man has been looking into over the last few years. This time 2tall is at the production helm of this spaceship, directing Dudley and Georgia over a collection of deep instrumentals that fit the vocals like a glove. The album has been a long work in progress, stemming from a chance encounter and short session between 2tall and Dudley back in 2005. 2 years and some much longer and deeper sessions later and 'Beautiful Mindz' is ready to be unleashed.
Like a lot of good music it talks best by itself, so I won't indulge in mass amounts of write ups and praise, but just leave it as what I believe it is - a fuckin good album that deserves to be heard by many people. 2tall turned in an amazing effort production wise - showing a new side to his musical persona and bringing in some amazing vocal contributions from Dudley and Georgia.
With the working process having been a long winded one, where 2tall finished the album around the vocal sessions recorded in 2005, it's amazing how easily the album flows by and how natural it feels.
